Cyclical metagraphy

Installation (presented by a video), motorised projection

In 1924, Kurt Schwitters already consider that “the word isn’t at the origin, the poetry’s material, it’s the letter”. Idea later reuse by the lettrist movement in collages that they called metagraphy.

This installation is inspired by the sound poem I Am That I Am by Brion Gysin. The interest for me to taking back this poem is the usage of cut-up in poetry and the faculty of each letter to be read on the both side.
The idea was to creat a visual poem with letters — to considerate as imagery and not as sound — that come mix to each other in a cycle.
